Yes, she did, also this was probably not the only reason. Marilyn basically said that during their scenes she was not thinking of him but fantasising. However, I don't believe Tony said that comment in seriousness, a radio interviewer asked him what kissing MM was like, and he replied sarcastically, "Like kissing Hitler, what do you think?" He now denies saying it altogether because of the backlash he received.
