Is this a good way to let someone know you like them?

For Christmas at school, I am planning on bringing in bags of little candies for my friends, like M&Ms or Skittles or something, and at the bottom of his I'd like to put a note that says that I like him, but if he doesn't like me he can just pretend that I never wrote the note and we can continue being friends. Do you think that this is a good way to tell him? Or do you think it's stupid?
